In December of 2022, Edward Holmes Jr. the previous owner of the Holmes Oil Company together with developers Buddy Keller and his son Carter purchased 500 –acres of land from the Reeves family.
The price tag per was $19.6 million for this prime real estate property according to the Chatham News and Records as well as an article by the Triad Business Journal.

Jody Leidolf, a land planner with Legion and friend of Holmes spotted the opportunity by visiting the property and then got Holmes interested enough to pursue the deal.
Reeves Farm is west of downtown and Holmes calls it a “premier property”. The property is halfway between the proposed VinFast electric manufacturing facility planned for Siler City’s Chatham Advanced Manufacturing site. The land is also just a few miles away from Chatham Park, the 7,068-acre planned community that is supposed to add 22,000 homes and as many as 70,000 new residents in the next few decades.
Holmes proposed a partnership on this project with Buddy Keller and his son Carter. They all have worked on construction projects previously together. Buddy and Carter are the managing members of Carolina Commercial Contractors LLC, a multimillion developer and construction firm in Sanford.

According to ConstructConnect a lead service provider, Carolina Commercial Contractors has at least four multi-million project currently in the pipeline.
The trio Edward Holmes, Buddy Keller and his son Carter then meet with the Reeves sisters, made them an offer and purchased the property. Reeves Farm Pittsboro LLC filed the application for rezoning with The Town of Pittsboro on May 5th 2023 and received the approval from the Board of Commissioners last week.
The next step for the developers after the rezoning approval of Reeves Farms is now to move forward with the site plans.
